Question: I swim a lot; how can I protect my skin?

Answer: Prolonged exposure to salt water in the sea or chlorinated water in a swimming pool can take its toll on your skin, so if you are a keen swimmer it is important to adequately protect your skin.

The main skin issue caused by swimming is dryness, causing a dull, flaky and lacklustre complexion, so a moisture-rich skincare regime after every swim is essential.

First, cleanse your skin thoroughly using a moisturising cleanser such as the Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic Botanical Cleansing Lotion – a gentle, mild cream cleanser derived from coconut and sugar beets.

Then use a moisture-enhancing toner such as the Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic Botanical Firming Toner, which primes the skin and maximises the amount of moisturiser drawn into the skin.

Follow with a hydrating moisturiser such as the Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic Face Cream with Deep Line Complex, a velvety emollient cream for skin that requires more oils without a greasy feel.
